Mr. Beanz Posted January 13, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 13, 2017 Gina found it at Wally World for $59, came with a few knives made of ceramic. She's always into those as seen on TV deals. She has a few things still laying around in their boxes taking up space. Like the cyclone mop she ordered on TV. Not only that but other things she had to have like a Keurig, which was used once then boxed and taking up space on the dining table, which we rarely use. along with a fancy dicer slicer thing, and a few others. Figuring this pan will never get used as I grill our dinner most nights, I figured I'd give it a try. Gina believes all the hype on crazy stuff. So I looked up a few reviews on YT and saw that it's about 50/50. One thing they did say was that ordering directly from the company was slow and terrible CS. If you have a problem with our pan, you will be waiting a loooong time fora replacement! They said it is better to order through an Amazon type source. Some of the reviews said it did not work as well after a couple of months. I saw a comment from the Copper Chef people saying they ought to try seasoning the pan first. Nowhere did I see that in the instructions provided but I seasoned it firs anyway, just to get the most out of the pan hoping it helps. Gina won't do it, she just likes to buy stuff and let it sit there. I tried it out and it worked well. After the cooking, it cleaned up nicely but only time will tell how it lasts. I didn't try the egg frying test but I am tempted just to see how it works. I used it last night to stir up some chicken breasts for dinner. I thought it cooked pretty slow considering it had that steel center whatever dealie bob that is! Gina told me that in the commercial, the center gadget helps it heat up quicker. I thought it cooked really slow so I told her it was slow. She said, "I said it heats up fast, I didn't say anything about cooking fast!". Ummm OKAY! Anyway, it worked like a pan! Next time I will cook the chicken then add the veges so they don't evaporate! But it was very tasty!
ChrisL Posted January 13, 2017 Share #2 Posted January 13, 2017 I've actually gone the opposite direction with my cooking utensils. I have 1 set of stainless pots & pans. A good quality non stick 12" frying pan (for eggs) and a good quality 18" non stick deep pan with lid. 1 good kitchen knife for chopping veggies, 1 pointed serrated knife for cutting meat and assorted wood utensils. I do 99% of the cooking and that's all I really need.

But the knives are the essentials, paring knife, I forgot the other knives names. But Gina keeps thinking those whacky knives are going to be great. I started with one just to pleas her but tossed it and said, gimme my good knife! So she wrapped that knife back up and packed it like it was made of gold. Oh well, I use what works too. We have one of those knife blocks with OK quality knives but I really don't use them (well the steak knives I do) I can do everything I need with those two blades. I had a bunch of knives and pots and pans and about 10 years ago really simplified the kitchen and put a bunch of stuff out on the curb.
