team scooter Posted January 18, 2017 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2017 Yep before Christmas we had a foot of snow. Now only the piles and a few drifts are left. At least its quiet without the racket from those dangblamit snowmachines.
maddmaxx ★ Posted January 18, 2017 Share #3 Posted January 18, 2017 I'm afraid to talk about snow but we appear to be good through then end of January.

BR46 Posted January 18, 2017 Share #5 Posted January 18, 2017 The weather man is talking mid 30s all week and mid 40s this weekend. I'm thinking that the motorcycle racing that I was going to this weekend might be canceled.
smudge ★ Posted January 18, 2017 Share #6 Posted January 18, 2017 We're supposed to have upper 30's into 40. I hate the January thaw. Everything is pretty right now, snowmobile trails are great, it's winter! Gonna be ugly by next week. <--- closest I could get to a crying emoticon. Kzoo Posted January 18, 2017 Share #7 Posted January 18, 2017 We've had rain for what seems like a week now. Only a few of the largest snow piles remain. Local forecast is mid 50s for Saturday and Sunday and the local guy said this morning that some models have it higher than that.
Dottleshead ★ Posted January 18, 2017 Share #8 Posted January 18, 2017 As usual, Seattle got no real snow so far. A light dusting one night dominated the news for a few nights straight but typical over-hyped broadcast fodder. It's raining now (surprise) and I've got to be out in it throughout the day. Sucks. bikeman564™ Posted January 18, 2017 Share #9 Posted January 18, 2017 in the 40's here in the SE mitten. Hoping to ride outside this weekend, providing my back lets me.

Once you go through the ice and your boots fill up with water the fun kinda ends there. I know this from experience .
Longjohn ★ Posted January 18, 2017 Share #15 Posted January 18, 2017 Back when I raced we didn't go out on a lake. Frozen creeks and puddles and lots of snow. We were not allowed spikes or even studs in our tires for the races. Anyone that had them had to yank them out if they wanted to race. That was probably a good idea as we were forever running over each other.
sheep_herder ★ Posted January 19, 2017 Share #16 Posted January 19, 2017 We've had temperatures in the 30s, and they are busy trying to get the streets in town clear of snow. It is still getting cold enough at night to stop melting and allow formation of ice. It will be interesting to see how much snow remains after this warming trend. We may have snow cover until spring.
