Once you go through the ice and your boots fill up with water the fun kinda ends there. 

I know this from experience .

Back when I raced we didn't go out on a lake. Frozen creeks and puddles and lots of snow. We were not allowed spikes or even studs in our tires for the races. Anyone that had them had to yank them out if they wanted to race. That was probably a good idea as we were forever running over each other.

We've had temperatures in the 30s, and they are busy trying to get the streets in town clear of snow.  It is still getting cold enough at night to stop melting and allow formation of ice.  It will be interesting to see how much snow remains after this warming trend.  We may have snow cover until spring.
