Reminds me of some of the local young rednecks who like to go and find some mud and then drive through it in their trucks and jeeps.  The dried on mud is a badge of honor, or so they seem to believe.

I see no problem with this, other than a fashion problem.  There will always be luxury goods for the truly luxurious life or the most luxurious and filthy looking people.
