sheep_herder ★ Posted May 21, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 21, 2017 They have 30 minutes to start and complete the art. Some sell for $1,000+.
Square Wheels Posted May 21, 2017 Share #2 Posted May 21, 2017 There is not one cell in my whole body that is artistic, that would cause me so much stress.
smudge ★ Posted May 21, 2017 Share #3 Posted May 21, 2017 That is a crazy lot of orange that first person has! And the second guy sure does seem to like to draw his chickadees! Either way, I'm in the same boat as SW; not in the very least artistic. sigh....

Airehead Posted May 21, 2017 Share #5 Posted May 21, 2017 Do they have to draw to a certain theme?
Kirby Posted May 21, 2017 Share #6 Posted May 21, 2017 Did the guy with the birds start the smaller drawing on the floor before the event or was that part of the 30 minutes?
sheep_herder ★ Posted May 21, 2017 Author Share #7 Posted May 21, 2017 No, there is no theme for this quick draw, but there may be for some others. Kirby, folks often bring small photos or drawings with them to use as patterns. This is a fairly common practice, as not all can paint a scene, at any time, and they take photos for future efforts in their home or gallery. People are invited to these types of shows, so one does not have to worry about lack of ability. Actually, Smudge, both pieces turned out very nice and sold well at the auction, and it is amazing they were completed in 30 minutes. It is nice that a wide variety of art is offered for sale, as it allows the buyers to choose what they like. Then they just have to hope someone else does not want it more than they do. Sadly, we often seem to like pieces that other folks also want. Here are the finished products.
Further Posted May 22, 2017 Share #8 Posted May 22, 2017 I'd trade some of my good looks for talent. ( Might have to throw in a little cash on the side )
Kirby Posted May 22, 2017 Share #9 Posted May 22, 2017 Both pics turned out very nice. My art looks a lot like Mr Silly's only not as good.
