Dirtyhip Posted May 24, 2017 Share #2 Posted May 24, 2017 Minimal worries. Just trim them off, and keep riding. I wouldn't worry about it.

Road Runner Posted May 24, 2017 Share #8 Posted May 24, 2017 My Gatorskins do that too. Like DH says, I just cut them off with scissors. No problem. Just keep an eye out for more stragglers and trim as necessary.
Ralphie ★ Posted May 24, 2017 Share #9 Posted May 24, 2017 On my tyre the sidewall started unraveling to the point where they got bumps on them.
Zealot Posted May 24, 2017 Share #10 Posted May 24, 2017 I've had that happen on Contis. But never had a failure because of it.

Dirtyhip Posted May 24, 2017 Share #16 Posted May 24, 2017 It's kinda like that stray string on your blouse. Your shirt isn't going to fall apart. Just trim the string and forget about it. No big deal. I wouldn't waste any energy thinking about it. You should see some of the tires I have worn down. When you can see the fibers on the side wall, you might want to stay close to civilization. HAHA
Road Runner Posted May 24, 2017 Share #17 Posted May 24, 2017 I put air in my tires before each ride. I look for loose threads. Easy peasy.

I removed them and trimmed whatever I could find on the tire. Then, 10 miles later, I see more threads. "stay close to civilization." Ha!! Love it!
