F_in Ray Of Sunshine Posted May 27, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 27, 2017 ....of putting traffic cones, or orange barrels up where there's a guard rail out? Are they supposed to make it safe by taking the place of the guard rail, or warn people that it's not safe to have an accident there because there's no guard rail?

Well you have to spend all the money you steal from out-of-staters on the Mass Pike. ....unless there's another reason my EZPass costs more to use than yours.... I hope the NYS Thruway increases tolls for Mass residents, in return.

Well first of all NYSDOT no longer uses the term gaurdrail. They are now known as guiderails. There was a big court case and some smuck walked away with millions because the guardrail didn't guard him from crashing. As for the cones/barrels, I have no clue? I noticed that on the sign in the place that inspired this post, this morning: "No guide rails!" "There, that will absolve us of any liability...."
