It really isn't a good song, and I just don't understand why everybody wants to cover it, change the hell out of it, play it, whatever. 

Don't get me wrong, it isn't a horrible song or anything, not as bad as much of the crap that is or ever was "popular", it just isn't all that good.

I agree: Pentatonix, Alexandra Burke, Jeff Buckley, Leonard Cohen, etc. don't sound anything like Handel! But I do love the original!
