az_cyclist Posted July 24, 2017 Share #51 Posted July 24, 2017 My son gave me a Yeti 20 oz mug for Christmas a couple of years ago. it is great. A co-worker picked up a knock off at Wal Mart that works just as good. My mug is stainless steel, not aluminum
Kzoo Posted July 24, 2017 Share #52 Posted July 24, 2017 I know a couple people that have knock-offs and they love them. Never owned one myself.
Further Posted July 24, 2017 Share #53 Posted July 24, 2017 If it works as good as ya'll say, I could see buying it for a bicycle water bottle.
KrAzY Posted July 24, 2017 Share #54 Posted July 24, 2017 Yup.. I have one.. cost me $5 for the nice lid, and the mug was free because some idiot let it on their car and took a turn. It has a small dent, but it still works like a champ!

OK let me chime back in since this has gone round and round a few times. I have had dozens of travel mugs and none of them have worked as well as my Yeti. Now you may not want your drink scalding hot for hours on end but that's a different story. OK so after i drink my coffee i rinse out my mug and fill it with cold water from the cooler. They other day I filled it at 4 PM for the drive home but like a dunce left it in the break room. Next morning the water was still chilled. Yes Yeti items are expensive but they flat out work. Left it sit in a car all day here in Texas. I checked the cup at 9pm and I still had some ice in there and the water was still real cold. The temp my jeep said while driving was 104F outside. I call this mug a win!
Further Posted July 27, 2017 Share #57 Posted July 27, 2017 So do they make one that fits in a bicycle water bottle holder ? Or, does somebody make a Yeti mug holder for bicycles ? I sense an opportunity here. I use Polar water bottles, on a hot day the second bottle might keep ice for an hour, having cold water hours into a ride would be nice. If I would start riding again
sheep_herder ★ Posted July 27, 2017 Share #58 Posted July 27, 2017 I sure like my 20 quart RTIC cooler that Indy mentioned the other day. My friend with two Yetis was even impressed.
airinpie Posted July 27, 2017 Share #59 Posted July 27, 2017 I have the Walmart Ozark trail ones. I keep ice water at my desk in it. If I forget to dump it, it will still have ice the next day. Just bought a 20 oz to try for coffee.
