Further Posted August 15, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 15, 2017 I love sun rise. But I'm usually working when it occurs. I've been to many sunset parties but no sunrise parties. So I guess it boils down to; a view you can savor in the privacy of the early morning or a view you can share with your friends, at the wind down time of day. I imagine there are places you can see both, but they're out of my range.

Wilbur ★ Posted August 15, 2017 Share #6 Posted August 15, 2017 I am pretty fortunate because I get to see them all the time. Evening westbound flights, you can watch sunset for about 5 hours. 1

Longjohn ★ Posted August 15, 2017 Share #13 Posted August 15, 2017 I could have a great view of both from the fitness center. It's at the top of a hill with fields all around it. I'm never there at sunset but I have got out of the pool and gone out in the snow in my speedo to take sunrise pictures. That water really feels hot when I get back in.
Kirby Posted August 15, 2017 Share #14 Posted August 15, 2017 Sunrise. My bedroom window faces mostly East and I usually am up before sunrise, so it's always nice to see the sun come up and brighten the morning.

Longjohn ★ Posted August 15, 2017 Share #16 Posted August 15, 2017 Here is the kind of sunsets I get in the winter from my front porch. In the summer the sun sets behind the trees to the right of this picture and I have to go up the road to the other side of the holler to get a good sunset pic.
sheep_herder ★ Posted August 15, 2017 Share #17 Posted August 15, 2017 I like them both. Sunrise is easier to see and photograph most of the year, but like Longjohn, sunsets are best from my place in the winter.
Zephyr Posted August 15, 2017 Share #18 Posted August 15, 2017 Sun set, because it means your place or relaxation gets the evening sun, to add a little warmth and hold off the evening chill. If you view the sunrise, by evening you dine and entertain in the shadow of your own house.

ChrisL Posted August 15, 2017 Share #20 Posted August 15, 2017 Well IMHO nothing in the whole world beats a sunset on the Pacific. We often go to the beach just to watch the sunset. I've had the good fortune to also watch the sunrise on the Atlantic and as much as I love a pretty sunrise I prefer the sunset.
