Zephyr Posted August 21, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 21, 2017 And you remember the movie "On Golden Pond" where you just kept waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for something to happen, and then it was over and you were like "Well that sucked" This morning was kinds like that 1

Randomguy Posted August 21, 2017 Share #6 Posted August 21, 2017 It was cloudy here, didn't see a thing except the sky got darker when I was outside.
Square Wheels Posted August 21, 2017 Share #7 Posted August 21, 2017 I went for a walk (6 miles) with my wife, we hoped to see it. If it weren't for all the hype I would have not known there was an eclipse. I tried looking up a few times, never saw anything but blinding sun. I want a refund. Further Posted August 21, 2017 Share #8 Posted August 21, 2017 I went out and watched thru my welding helmet. It was cool, but nowhere near worth sacrificing a virgin for.
TrentonMakes Posted August 21, 2017 Share #9 Posted August 21, 2017 From inside the office I could tell that it wasn't as bright as usual, but it was still plenty bright. I got a peek through someone else's glasses, which showed an image just like the ones I've seen online (about 70% totality here). I think astronomy is really cool, honest, but I was underwhelmed today. If it really got dark that would have helped. Maybe I will try to arrange a visit to Montpelier to see the total eclipse in 2024.
