Longjohn ★ Posted September 6, 2017 Share #1 Posted September 6, 2017 He was crawling across my yard today. If he is going to turn into a flutterby and migrate to Mexico before the snow flies he needs to get his act together.

LOL, I never heard of a parsley worm but this guy is admired by many, not sure why. Soon to be a Monarch butterfly.

Those are what I've been seeing but this guy was on a milkweed plant and as I was watching him he climbed down and started across my yard. I don't know where he was going but I guess he did. He never stopped and headed for the sunflowers in the garden.
Ralphie ★ Posted September 7, 2017 Share #6 Posted September 7, 2017 Looks like I was close but no cigar. Yours is a monarch, but it looks a lot like the parsley worm.
Longjohn ★ Posted September 7, 2017 Author Share #7 Posted September 7, 2017 Wow, they do look similar. I don't grow parsley so I haven't seen those. I do grow a crapton of milkweed because the save the Monarch peeps think it's important and they are real easy to grow. You just take one of the pods when it splits open and blow on it and thousands of seeds parachute to all of your neighbors land as well as your own everywhere you don't mow.
