They were no more important than anyone else who has past before them. That doesn't mean they should be forgotten, just celebrated in private. A moment of silence is one thing, reading names incessantly is another. I have known people that were killed in war, natural causes, horrific accidents, acts of criminal violence etc. I still remember them and still think of them but don't place those who died on 9/11 before them.
