Popular Post tybeegb Posted September 13, 2017 Popular Post Share #1 Posted September 13, 2017 but we were better prepared than last time. And I don't do FB or forum on my phone. Strictly text and voice. My phone is smart but I'm not. This was a weird storm. Matthew in October had much stronger winds and a lot more water where we are. The winds from this one were like a Nor'easter we occasionally get, but the water was much worse on the Eastern side of the island. While Tybee had a lot of damage, it pales in comparison to Florida. I feel for those people. The backyard. It was a little stressful watching the water rise all morning and not knowing if the storm surge was going to push it higher than last time. One thing I couldn't do anything about was our fire wood pile. This is part of what I have to clean up today, not to mention all of the lumber from the old deck that floated around under the house. Still not near as bad as last time. And I still have some cold PBR when I get too hot. 8
sheep_herder ★ Posted September 13, 2017 Share #2 Posted September 13, 2017 Thanks for checking in and letting us know how you are doing. Looks like you will be busy for a few days, but thankfully you are both safe.
Popular Post maddmaxx ★ Posted September 13, 2017 Popular Post Share #3 Posted September 13, 2017 Ty. Do you have or are you going to be able to obtain a permit to right all that overturned furniture. I believe that the town may treat that as an improvement subject to approval. 3

TrentonMakes Posted September 13, 2017 Share #8 Posted September 13, 2017 Glad you're OK, and that things aren't as bad as we feared (though obviously they're still bad). Good luck with the cleanup.
