Airehead Posted October 1, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2017 When you travel with pets, do you bring water from home, buy bottled for them, or let them take their chances with the water during the trip?

I used to fill some gallon bottles or a 5-gallon refillable container before I used to take the dog camping. Can't stop a dog from drinking out of a stream or lake, though.
F_in Ray Of Sunshine Posted October 1, 2017 Share #3 Posted October 1, 2017 Gus has drunk from places frogs refused to live. I don’t think “foreign” tap water will bother him. He’s a delicate orchid, but not THAT bad.

ChrisL Posted October 1, 2017 Share #5 Posted October 1, 2017 We don't usually go too far with Jack but we always have water and a bowl for him in the car. Silly boy only drinks it straight from the bottle tho.

We will take a couple bottles of tap water if we are travelling. But our trips are typically 3 hours back to Portland. 99% of the time we don't use it. Once in a while it is hot and we will stop for a break
team scooter Posted October 1, 2017 Share #8 Posted October 1, 2017 Our dogs drink the same bottled water as us at home and traveling. We dont need them getting stomach issues. Especially while on long trips in the car. <--- He might be small, but that boy can poop.
Dirtyhip Posted October 1, 2017 Share #9 Posted October 1, 2017 I would share my water with them, and discourage dirty stream drinking (when feasible). They had a little sierra cup that I would fill up with clean water to let them drink from.
