Digital_photog ★ Posted October 6, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 6, 2017 Copied from a post in the facebook group Bicycle Touring (Rider's Forum) Quote Perú is one of the best for biking. Crossing the mountains sometime is so tough but very nice. Lots of passes more 4500 meters elevation. In some places where tourists going is terrible, roads with lots of dust and not respect. But still bery nice. Huascarán national park is awesome. 40000km from Alaska to Peru. This is not the end of our journey. We going to Southern point of South America, to the end of the world.www.cycle4recycle.com @cycle4recycle — at Huascarán National Park. 2

Wilbur ★ Posted October 6, 2017 Share #3 Posted October 6, 2017 No thanks. I have been to Peru several times and neither the roads nor the drivers inspire me to ride there.

The density altitude may be a killer.

jsharr ★ Posted October 6, 2017 Share #6 Posted October 6, 2017 Just shoot me, please. I have a great dislike for driving up and down mountains in anything other than a Jeep. I think I would prefer a blind fold and a cigarette and a target pinned to my chest to having to ride that on a bike.

Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted October 6, 2017 Share #10 Posted October 6, 2017 I know nothing about the drivers or roads in Peru, but I would like to try that. Salivating like Pavlov's dog.

smudge ★ Posted October 7, 2017 Share #17 Posted October 7, 2017 That road looks like a lot of dinkin' around. I'd just throw the bike on my back and walk straight up; none of that back and forth bs! (Pretty tough talk for an old woman with a gimp knee and totally atrophied leg who lives practically at sea level and has absolutely no cardio vascular endurance whatsoever right now. )
