Popular Post sheep_herder ★ Posted October 12, 2017 Popular Post Share #1 Posted October 12, 2017 Did not see Smokey last night when I finished feeding the sheep, so decided to check on him this morning about 4:00am. He had been back to the barn and eaten some of his food. I called and pretty soon he showed up and let me pick him up while I was wearing gloves. After a good rub down and snuggling into my jacket, he was ready to eat a bit of food. I think he is a keeper. I sometimes smile at all the house renovation discussions, as I am the type that does little if no renovation to our house. We have lived here since autumn 1988 and have not made changes except adding a 3-season room on the SE corner. This year we installed a new roof, after removing the wood shakes and also had the outside of the house repainted for the 2nd time since we moved. Our house has nice wood flooring that has always been covered with carpet, which with our traffic (dog and human) has a few holes etc. Our water heater after eons of service, decided to leak this summer and soaked and warped some of the floor boards in the hallway. We could have had the boards removed and fixed a small area, but decided to remove the carpet, repair the damaged floor, and finish the hardwood floor in the entire hallway. The work begins this morning. They will repair and finish the floor today and varnish tomorrow. I look forward to the new look.

My wife and I are normally not at the barn at the same time, and he doesn't sit still except in eating behind a board fence. It might be a while before you get a photo. I hope he is still friendly after he visits the vet on Friday morning. Nice we live in a small town, as one of the techs indicated she will bring him to our house after the office closes, if the sheep shearing is still going after 5:00pm. She has also bought sheep from us in the past.
Longjohn ★ Posted October 12, 2017 Share #4 Posted October 12, 2017 When checking to make sure all of your sheep are accounted for do you ever fall asleep before you have them all counted? 2
donkpow Posted October 12, 2017 Share #5 Posted October 12, 2017 I'd expect the cat to calm down after he gets fixed.

No problem, as there are too many sheep to count. I normally count the kids, to make sure none are missing or out of place. There are only 7 kids. There are two kids that wander away so they can eat hay in other places, but they have learned I will open gates for them so they can return to the rest of the group.
