What is the old company going to do? Go out and recruit 2 29 year olds? Do they go raid one of the commuter airlines? Do they just go to the Union hall and order up 1 pilot? Do the Flight Attendants have a say in the new hire? Do you fly for a month while they line out new help?

Since I am plus 60 there won't be a chance for me to apply. Strictly informational questions

Don't care. Probably- 2 fer pricing. Probably major airline retiree or expat. No union. The lead flight attendant may be in the drivers seat on selection. Imfly until I start training November 5.

I missed it - what was the problem with the old job?  All that time in Italy?

The new one includes a significant  increase in salary and benefits.  I will miss Italy for sure.  Oh well..
