In small amounts, the current cycling infrastructure can handle it. Bump it up by a bit, and it will be an AWFUL problem. Getting hit by a 50 lbs bike with a 200 lbs rider at 28 mph is a situation for dead people. Limiting their assist may be the only answer, but it is also their big appeal.
