Looks like shoulder surgery

Sorry to hear but hopefully it will address the pain.

I'm dealing with bone spurs in my right ankle.  Quitting softball has helped but I'm in some level of discomfort daily.  I'm thinking I should get it checked out. My Dr already told me that at some point I'd need to have it surgically removed.

Surgery is scheduled for next Thursday

This surgery is not usually an ASAP deal.  I have postponed mine until all my fall projects are over.  Once you have the surgery, you will be out of commission for a good while.  Just mentioning this to you in case you have something you might want to do before surgery.  Not typically a problem to put off rotator cuff surgery for a short time.

Welcome to the club! I had the same thing taken care of on my left shoulder-tear and spurs. I've been putting off having the right done, but I think it's going to have to happen after the first of the year.

Same here. Had the surgery a few years back. Elbow surgery coming up

Not sure which shoulder for LJ, but the dominant side was much worse for me.  Doing everything with my left hand sucked!

I’m left handed and it’s the left shoulder but I am almost ambidextrous. I can do most things with either hand. I write better left handed and throw better right handed. Most things it doesn’t matter.

You plan on doing a lot of throwing in the next few months

When you're a surgeon, every problem looks like surgery needed.

j/k, I just like to say things like that.

I think that way too but after six months my shoulder keeps getting worse instead of better.  It looks like I won’t be going to Puerto Rico any time soon. :dontknow:

Behave all winter (no snow shoveling, fire wood tossing, ect, ) and have a great summer next year.

Pullin for ya.

The firewood tossing is going to have to happen even if I have to do it one handed, that's how we heat. I did it one handed after the crash, not easy but doable.

I think you've waited long enough. I hope your surgeon is top notch. :)

Good luck. Don't over do post-op; I want this to heal up well for you. Keep us posted!

My new PCP set this up for me. She didn't buy the story that my first ortho guy told me about nothing they can do. She said this is the best shoulder specialist in western Pa.
