I don’t have much faith in the physical therapists. The last 2 I saw read me some excersises from a sheet of paper that looked like it was downloaded from the internet. It was a one size fits all type of deal.

I had one come to my house after my broken hip and she was trying to get me to work my hip. I knew my ortho surgeon had said absolutely not so I made her call him.  After she talked to someone at the doctor's office she said she didn't know why she was coming here if she wasn't allowed to have me work my hip. I told her she didn't need to come anymore, I'd be ok. LOL.   The one nurse that came to my home to take vitals and draw blood was hawt, she rode a motorcycle when she came to check on me. It was nice to have someone drive clear out here in the boonies to visit me. My wife was working long hours and I was left by myself and not able to do anything.

I have a couple more questions for you @Longjohn:

Are they going to saw down the bone spur? They aren't going to do a Brett Favre surgery and just snip that bicep tendon, are they? I hate that idea.

Did you say they are going to send you home with the ice/water circulator? If they are, start stocking up on ice now! They go through a lot of ice. They are great when they are cold enough, but you need a lot of ice for that. (I got a Breg Polar Kodiak I think)

Will the sling be the one with the cushion/pillow between your elbow and ribs? I see a lot of those. Or is it a different contraption?

The doc said he was going to remove the bone spur.? The ice pack thingie is called a crying pneumatic shoulder support. It has gel packs that you keep in the freezer and have to switch out.

The sling they showed me had a lot of padding on it. It was a lot fancier than the ones I have here at home from various ER visits. Both of those contraptions look like I’ll need help getting them on and off.

Is your heart rate still 50

It was 50 when I checked in. The nurse asked me if I was on beta blockers. I told her I don’t do drugs, I’m a cyclist. She said oh, ok. During surgery it dropped to 42 but it was up to 48 by the time I was discharged. I don’t know what it was while I was flirting with nurse goodbody?
