So, we had two Verizon cable boxes.  The remotes to them are very old (10+ years) and the rubber degraded and they feel sticky.  I ordered two new ones on the phone with the support lady, I think they were free. Today I swapped my regular box for an HD DVR box so I can watch sports outside of our bedroom.  The bedroom has the bigger, nicer TV, but the wife is having a hard time sleeping now.  The new box came with a new remote.  When I installed the new box, a phone number popped up saying auto update failed and call Verizon.

Verizon: How can I help you.
Me: My TV told me to call you.
Verizon: Let me click some buttons on my end, this will only take a few minutes.
Me: While I wait, can you help me with the two remotes I ordered?
Verizon: Sure, what do you need to know?
Me: Explianed I only needed one new one now, can she edit the order?
Verizon: Sorry, it's already being shipped, just keep the second one, you know, in case the dog chews one of them.
Me: You're shipping me a dog too?

Was this nominated for POTD?  This was damn good stuff.
