Wilbur Posted October 23, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 23, 2017 The National Film Board of Canada has always provided funding for Art Film and other video productions that are out of mainstream. People sometimes comment that "You can tell it's Canadian" when in reality, you can tell it is an art film piece. So, yes, lots of art film here. https://www.nfb.ca

shootingstar Posted October 23, 2017 Share #4 Posted October 23, 2017 I used to see a number of them. Less so now, partially related to cost.
donkpow Posted October 23, 2017 Share #5 Posted October 23, 2017 I thought this thread was about porn films because that is what we used to call them, "art films". There is a small theater downtown that is an "art film" (not porn type) showcase. I've never been in there except to get a cup of coffee.
BuffJim Posted October 23, 2017 Share #6 Posted October 23, 2017 I go them a few times a year. Even by myself if no one will go with me. There's some awfully good movies outside of the normal Hollywood distribution. Saw one a few weeks ago about a murder on an Indian reservation in Wyoming, and also this summer one about an ex-con in Harlem trying to get his life back together. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/wind_river_2017/ https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/chapter_and_verse/ Is this what you mean by art films?
