Parr8hed Posted November 13, 2017 Share #7 Posted November 13, 2017 Dang. She beat my time by 3 hrs and 49 min!! I would just have been half way through the run when she finished.
Longjohn ★ Posted November 13, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted November 13, 2017 He daughter just posted: FIRST PLACE overall female at Ironman Los Cabos in Mexico today !! ??♀️??♀️??♀️ Congratulations on your very well deserved win that you’ve worked SO hard for ?? Kona, Hawaii, Ironman World Championships, here she comes ❤️ Way to go, mom! I don't know why the times are different on this picture and the one that Amy posted last night. I'll find the official time later. My guess this was the actual finish and the first picture she is holding a flag so she must have circled around and came back for a picture.

Longjohn ★ Posted November 13, 2017 Author Share #10 Posted November 13, 2017 I have heard the men always run faster because they have ball bearings and a stick shift, at least that is what I heard in grade school.
ChrisL Posted November 13, 2017 Share #11 Posted November 13, 2017 Thats bad ass! Is it just the lighting at the finish or did she finish in the dark? Assuming a 7 am start 10 hours would be a 5 PM finish. This time of year i guess it would be dusk/ near dark.

Longjohn ★ Posted November 14, 2017 Author Share #15 Posted November 14, 2017 "I knew it was a possibility [to win the race] and I went for it that last 10k. I had never negative-split an IM marathon before. But I then I told myself, there is no way I'm going to lose IM by two minutes. So I went for it, and it was worth it." - Amy Sword Elite triathlete Amy Javens - Professional Triathlete and QT2 Systems Coach took the win this weekend at IRONMAN Los Cabos. Her top performance was long overdue after some gnarly crashes and racing setbacks recently. With her win, she qualified for the 2018 IM Kona Championships and received this medal. It's a big accomplishment to win a race, but an even bigger to qualify for Kona. Amy is a shining example of how a person can preserve, never doubt, and rise to the challenge. We’re so proud of you Amy, you deserve this spot as you truly embody what it means to be an athlete. ??? ————————————————— #Ironman #triathlon #imkona #championship #qualifier #amyjavens #qt2systems #coach #triathlete #swordelite #pushyourboundaries #drinksword 2

Airehead Posted November 18, 2017 Share #19 Posted November 18, 2017 I love a good race report. I can't even imagine what it did to her pacing and mental consistency to have to reset her chain multiple times.
