Randomguy Posted October 1, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted October 1, 2013 Well, Breaking Bad didn't leave a void, the show ending did. I felt compelled to explain this.

Olas Nah Posted October 1, 2013 Share #4 Posted October 1, 2013 I didn't make it through the first episode. I'm sure it's a great show, but the basic premise just didn't exactly pull me in.

Randomguy Posted October 1, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted October 1, 2013 Homeland is on now I kind of liked that, but wish I cared more about the subject matter, or thought that the chick was remotely hot.
Olas Nah Posted October 1, 2013 Share #8 Posted October 1, 2013 Why haven't you reviewed the York Maine movie from earlier? And wth is wrong with the premise? WTH is York Maine? Hmm, Chemistry teacher makes meth. Boring. I remember when the series started on TV, I kept thinking that every time I saw a commercial for it. tybeegb Posted October 1, 2013 Share #14 Posted October 1, 2013 WofTy never watched it, until the marathon started. Then she was glued to the TV set. She fell asleep during the final episode after Walt tricked his two former partners to set up the trust fund for his family. Needless to say she was POed. Holy crap, what would be exciting then? Perhaps a realistic documentary style drama about actual meth users and law enforcement, interspersed with an overall picture dramatic story from the political/governmental angles of how it affects society. Every episode would end with some brief profiles of actual good people out there working to stem the tide, and people who have come back from addiction. But what do I know..... Reverend_Maynard Posted October 2, 2013 Share #18 Posted October 2, 2013 I too never watched it based on what I know of the premise. Why should I have anything but disdain for someone willing to ruin countless lives to further his own?
Randomguy Posted October 2, 2013 Author Share #19 Posted October 2, 2013 I too never watched it based on what I know of the premise. Why should I have anything but disdain for someone willing to ruin countless lives to further his own? Because it is the one show univesally regarded as the best show in television history by pretty much everyone? Because it started with an ordinary law-abiding citizen who, through several turns of event, started becoming something else in a complex character study? Lots of good reasons, really. It is an adventure.
Reverend_Maynard Posted October 2, 2013 Share #20 Posted October 2, 2013 Sorry, not buying it. If there are so many people in America that can identify with a POS like that that it can become the most popular show ever, than there is no hope for any of us. I guess I already knew that, but it's still depressing, nonetheless.
Road Runner Posted October 2, 2013 Share #21 Posted October 2, 2013 The show was crap, so I guess you could fill the void with a hamster or maybe even a butt plug, whichever you prefer.

There's no 'before' with the character.

It wouldn't be as interesting if he wasn't an ordinary Joe everyman before he made choices to provide for when the cancer would have gotten him. You should really actually watch the show, you know.
