What are you peppered with?

Coffee shops for sure. And then restaurants. Not as many bars, but certainly quite a few that are attached to restaurants. I think bars generally have to sell food around here. Also, starting to get a lot of breweries, wineries/vineyards, and even distilleries, so the booze if starting to flow. Finally, seem like a lot of gyms and even bike shops.

Not sure how any of this stacks up versus other similar demographic areas.

Portland had strip clubs everywhere.

I've never been to Portland, but in 1996 I worked onsight in Toldeo for six weeks. The company was located in SW Toledo and I drove almost daily to and from the Dow Corning building which at the time was being built on the Maumee River. It was neat to be in there as it was being finished. Anywho, there is a lot, and I mean a lot of 24-hr adult stores, strip clubs and massage parlors for one city IMO. Really, who needs to stop in at 3:30 am to pick up porn?

Dunkin' Donuts in NYC, which was really weird and unsettling.  They suddenly started showing up everywhere around 2008, and I couldn't figure out wth was up because the donuts taste like chemical shit and the coffee drinkers all said that the coffee was garbage.  I am sure they had enough people in from NJ and Staten Island, plus homeless people who would buy their crap, but I think the strategy was to just keep building them and see what sticks to the wall.
