A PSA for copying and pasting text to the forum

A minor thing, but just something I see a lot here that can easily be avoided if so desired...

Anytime you copy and paste text and images, the software will ask you if you want to paste it as rich text or as plain text (rich text is default).  If you want the text you are copying to be the same size and look like all the other text in your post, you should click on the plain text prompt.  One example of this might be if you want to copy/paste the title of a thread into your post (in this example, I put it in a quote box).

Here is how that looks if you don't opt for plain text and it remains as rich text:

Quote

Who is going camping this weekend?

Here is how it looks if you select plain text:

Quote

Who is going camping this weekend?

The prompt is displayed at the bottom of the post every time you paste and looks like this:

Pasted as rich text.   Paste as plain text instead

Note:   Never select plain text if you are pasting an image.  The image will disappear.

So you have a cliff’s notes version available?

Yes.  When copying/pasting to the forum, almost always select "plain text", unless you are pasting an image.

BTW, selecting "plain text" when pasting text also eliminates the text and background color differences between themes.  Highly recommended.  :)
