Popular Post JerrySTL ★ Posted February 13, 2018 Popular Post Share #1 Posted February 13, 2018 WoJSTL and I. Florence Kentucky just south of Cincinnati on Veteran's Day. We will be able to visit family afterwards. WoJSTL wants to do a half marathon in every state. We haven't done one in KY yet even though I'm from there. The Flying Pig half marathon over in Cincinnati crosses over into Kentucky for a couple of miles, but WoJSTL doesn't think that counts.

Is there anyone still there when you get to the finish? I've heard some marathons they tear down the finish line and go home after a few hours. That's why I bring some money so that I can run into a gas station and get a cold sports drink. So far I've always finished within the time limit. Just barely a few times, but still good.
Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted February 13, 2018 Share #7 Posted February 13, 2018 Florence Y'all! WoJstL is correct. Running the flying pig is not running in KY even if y'all cross the river.
Airehead Posted February 13, 2018 Share #8 Posted February 13, 2018 When you come to New York do the Winter Warrior half or the Rochester marathon -- both are very, very walker friendly.

I don't think they need to use a walker, they are just going to walk part of it.

You and I should not race together. You shop, and I stop and take pictures!

The half marathon starts under the water tower. It originally said Florence Mall but some killjoy said that government property couldn't advertise commercial businesses. There you see the quick fix.
Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted February 14, 2018 Share #14 Posted February 14, 2018 Nice. We drove past there many times going to ride near Big Bone Lick (yes, it's a place), go to Louisville, Lexington and points south like the Great Smoky Mountains.
