I use that stuff for patching my trunk bag. It dries to a durable rubbery material that won't scratch the paint and protects the partially worn fabric. I'm thinking about using it on my shoe rain covers. I'm forever wearing out the bottom of the covers walking on them, even though the fabric is made of Kevlar. Wish me goop luck.
