Popular Post Parr8hed Posted February 23, 2018 Popular Post Share #1 Posted February 23, 2018 I drove Griffin 5 hours to Chattanooga. It made me happy to be able to do something for him. One of the team dads volunteered to be the SAG driver since his back was a little wonky. This made me happy since it meant that I could ride with the team a little. I volunteered my truck since it was the biggest vehicle to hold the most gear/kids/bikes. This made me feel happy that I was able to help out. \ Team dad is a really strong rider, but small. About 5'4". So he raised my seat to the ceiling and scooted it up to the dash. This made me feel indifferent. When I went to leave to drive back to Louisville the seat was stuck. This made me feel angry. I drove 5 hours home with my head rubbing the ceiling and knees rubbing the dash. This made me feel frustrated. Once I got home and rested I cleaned connections, fuses, and the switch. I made sure everything was tight and then the seat started working again. This made me feel relieved. My truck is back to normal and this makes me happy.

pedalphile Posted February 23, 2018 Share #3 Posted February 23, 2018 I like this even before I read it - such a veritable Friday afternoon thread title.
pedalphile Posted February 23, 2018 Share #4 Posted February 23, 2018 Good story, but the woes of technology. I liked my seat in my olde van, all mechanical, no electrics, simples.
petitepedal ★ Posted February 23, 2018 Share #5 Posted February 23, 2018 I probably still couldn't have driven it.

Anyone get popped for doping? Really, really good. Was supposed to go for the whole weekend but rain. Sunday was the only day to ride. It was a training "mini camp" put on by his team. Probably 15 riders? Some really strong older juniors. They rode about 80 in the hills. Griffin was the youngest, smallest, least experienced. He rode around 40 ish (Garmin is broken). He did one climb up a mountain, 2000 ft of gain and 6 miles of climbing. I was very proud. He did really well riding in the pack. I was worried that they would be too fast for him to hang, but he did great.

Anyone get popped for doping? it was funny because one of the juniors (a TT national champ) is the son of a pretty big cycling name around here. On our group facebook page he said they were going racing in Carolina this weekend. Someone asked a question about the course. His reply? "I texted Hincapie and he said that the course is not really hilly, just rolling". Yea, Let me just text george really quick....

And my wife really Jack's shit up by pressing every f'ing control to move the seat up 4 inches. The seat will be 4" higher, leaned forward with the lumbar support pushing on my kidneys and the heat on... What I only moved it forward a few inches...
Kirby Posted February 23, 2018 Share #11 Posted February 23, 2018 This story had everything! Demonstrations of paternal love, tension, drama and a satisfying ending.
