Kzoo Posted February 23, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 23, 2018 So we have this young sales guy in the office. We'll call him Charlie, cause his name is Charlie. Charlie is 24 - a real go getter of a sales guy who has been with us for about 3 months. He needed to mail a proposal to a client. He had the large envelope with an address on it. He needed to put postage on it. I suggested a return address. Oh yeah maybe a good idea. I took him over to the postage machine and as we were walking he says that he has maybe mailed three envelopes in his life. What? We get to the postage machine and he is amazed. He didn't know those existed. Yeah Pitney Bowes. He never heard of Pitney Bowes. A breakdown in society I tell ya.

Go easy on him, and don't show him the electric 3 hole punch because his head will explode. 1

That was my next thought. Luckily ours are manual (oh the humanity).
Square Wheels Posted February 23, 2018 Share #6 Posted February 23, 2018 I've never since a postage machine either. I've only applied my own stamps, or sent things to the mail room.

jsharr ★ Posted February 23, 2018 Share #8 Posted February 23, 2018 I use stamps.com . Probably not the most cost effective solution, but simple and easy to use. Print a full sheet of first class stamps, or use a USB scale and print custom postage.

donkpow Posted February 23, 2018 Share #11 Posted February 23, 2018 Now that Charlie has confessed his lack of experience to you, I expect he will follow you around like a little puppy dog.

Kirby Posted February 24, 2018 Share #13 Posted February 24, 2018 I had a conversation with a woman last week who said she just had to tell her 20 year old son where to put the stamps on an envelope.
petitepedal ★ Posted February 24, 2018 Share #14 Posted February 24, 2018 Well don't ask half of the folks delivering the mail to my work...they wouldn't know about stamps..postage or addresses for that matter....I finally wrote on the back of the 2nd or 3 package that they spent 3 days delivering to us(even though I told them at least twice..wrong address).."Dear Kellie...Sorry for the delay the US postal service cannot understand the difference between 5015 and 5105...sorry for the delay..I tried to tell them"
bikeman564™ Posted February 24, 2018 Share #15 Posted February 24, 2018 we have a postage machine thingie...I've used it only a few times, but the company as a whole uses it quite a bit. Yes, things still get mailed for real.
