Digital_photog ★ Posted March 16, 2018 Share #1 Posted March 16, 2018 A good Amish friend and fellow reenactor was killed in a bike accident this morning. Freeman was very talented, did great coppersmith work, built muzzle loading guns, made dulcimers. His brother is also a good friend and excellent saddle maker. We went to many reenactments and horse events together. http://www.goshennews.com/news/middlebury-bicyclist-killed-in-early-morning-crash/article_cb798cda-2918-11e8-9c20-8f94684e0135.html

Longjohn ★ Posted March 16, 2018 Share #3 Posted March 16, 2018 I think it's time they ban cars and trucks from the highway, enough is enough.
Digital_photog ★ Posted March 16, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted March 16, 2018 He should have been visible. He always wore a highway safety vest with LED lights on it and also a large tractor style LED taillight and bright headlight on the bike. He was lit up like a Christmas tree. In my opinion this was total carelessness.

Very sorry to hear this. Was he out riding for exercise, or commuting to work? Out of curiosity, what is a reenactor?

Out of curiosity, what is a reenactor? He was riding to work as he did every morning. Amish don't drive cars. He used the bike as his everyday transportation. He did historical reenactments . Very good builder of Flintlock guns, mountain dulcimers, and copper dishes and cookware.
