Sad day

A good Amish friend and fellow reenactor was killed in a bike accident this morning.

Freeman was very talented, did great coppersmith work, built muzzle loading guns, made dulcimers.  His brother is also a good friend and excellent saddle maker.

We went to many reenactments and horse events together.

Very sorry to hear this.

Was he out riding for exercise, or commuting to work?

Out of curiosity, what is a reenactor?

He was riding to work as he did every morning.  Amish don't drive cars.  He used the bike as his everyday transportation.

He did historical reenactments .  Very good builder of Flintlock guns, mountain dulcimers, and copper dishes and cookware.

He should have been visible.  He always wore a highway safety vest with LED lights on it and also a large tractor style LED taillight and bright headlight on the bike.  He was lit up like a Christmas tree.

In my opinion this was total carelessness.

I'm very sorry for your loss of dear friend.

He would have been visible.
