Used spokes.

I'm putting together a front wheel using the spokes off of another wheel. I hate to build with used spokes but 'whatcha gonna do'? 2 mm DT conventional j-bend spokes. They are all scratched. Looks like somebody rubbed against some concrete. Only one looks to be at risk of breaking. It's a front wheel so I should be okay.

 I've never had a catastrophic event occur as the result of a broken spoke. The worst has been the wheel rubs the brakes.

I was going to answer this question with "don't use old spokes", but it seems I was too late.

My new answer is: update us on any issues that pop up.

Well, I was having trouble taking a dip out of the wheel. Turns out it is a flat spot around the weld. It's not something you'd notice while riding, just building.
