Gump Posted May 28, 2018 Share #1 Posted May 28, 2018 Tub is gone along with the old dry wall. Tomorrow I need to move a drain and a vent pipe then I can start framing the walk-in shower.
tybeegb Posted May 29, 2018 Share #2 Posted May 29, 2018 WofTy is wanting that done to our bathroom upstairs. I am not going to tackle that job, but she has already bought the new tub, sideboard, sinks and faucets, and some reclaimed wood. Maybe I'll get someone this summer to do it. ? maddmaxx ★ Posted May 29, 2018 Share #3 Posted May 29, 2018 We changed out the tub for a large walk in shower several years ago. It's much easier on old bodies to get in and out of but every once in a while I miss a nice long soak in hot water. I'm afraid I let Bathfitters do the job. Dottleshead ★ Posted May 29, 2018 Share #4 Posted May 29, 2018 I'm not much of a do it yourselfer when it comes to large projects like these -- especially ones where they need to look good. I can handle the outdoor foundation stuff just fine. Indoor home improvement projects that need to meet my wife's expectations? No way. Heck, they don't even meet my expectations. I heard that @Kzoo is better at bath remodels than he is at lawn maintenance.
jsharr ★ Posted May 29, 2018 Share #6 Posted May 29, 2018 If we had pier and beam instead of slab, the wife would have remodeled both of your baths long ago. To damn expensive to do with slab if you need to move drains and such.
