Further Posted July 1, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 1, 2018 Ya got many ? We have a bumper crop this year. I love to sit on the patio and watch them. Had one in the bedroom the other night, it was kinda cool. Been trying to take a pic of them, but haven't been very happy with my results.

I tried to take a picture with my phone and it didn’t work. I thought with your camera you should have been able to do it. Try again tonight and keep changing the settings until you get it.
Page Turner Posted July 1, 2018 Share #4 Posted July 1, 2018 ...we don't have them here with the dry summers and low humidity. It's one of the few things I miss from back east.....fireflies, dry lightning, and summer thunderstorms.
JerrySTL Posted July 1, 2018 Share #5 Posted July 1, 2018 Plenty of them. Even had one in the house a few nights ago.
Further Posted July 2, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted July 2, 2018 No where near as many tonight, mid 90's today I think put a damper on the firefly activity
groupw Posted July 2, 2018 Share #7 Posted July 2, 2018 They are pretty active here! We had a night ride last weekend. We took an alternate route because a Glow 5k was on our usual route. It cut through a pasture and the fireflies were going crazy! Maybe they were reacting to the lights on our bikes.

MickinMD Posted July 2, 2018 Share #9 Posted July 2, 2018 We were just admiring the stars at Deep Creek Lake, far from the city lights, and the shoreline was teeming with fireflies.
smudge Posted July 2, 2018 Share #10 Posted July 2, 2018 Very jealous. We don't get them very often.
Mr. Silly Posted July 2, 2018 Share #11 Posted July 2, 2018 We have a lot of fire flies. We never saw them growing up; I am guessing too many pesticides. My only problem is they like to fly near Mrs. Silly and try to seduce her with their illuminated abdomens.
maddmaxx Posted July 2, 2018 Share #12 Posted July 2, 2018 What illuminated abdomens?
