Popular Post Zephyr Posted July 1, 2018 Popular Post Share #1 Posted July 1, 2018 From our canoe trip last week. We camped on a small island in the middle of the lake. That way Puco could be off leash with no worry from bears, cougars and wolves. The first day we were the only people on the whole lake system, which made it super peaceful. We paddled up to the end of the lake and followed an old native portage trail out to the coast to a small bay where we ate lunch and relaxed We searched the far end of the lake and found the 1/2 mile meandering feeder that lead to a smaller lake. This was as wide as it got, in some places it was narrower than the canoe Sometimes Pico enjoyed the coolness of the bottom of the canoe on a warm sunny day, other times she would lay on top of stuff to give her a better view We had a cloud system roll in, and while cooler than seasonal temps, it made for total stillness of the air which was excellent for paddling. 14

Popular Post shotgun Posted July 4, 2018 Popular Post Share #14 Posted July 4, 2018 (edited) The electric company put up a utility pole with a platform on it for the ospreys to nest on. They have been nesting on top of an emergency alert siren for a number of years. I've never visited at 1PM on the first Saturday of the month, but I can't imagine the birds or their offspring are very fond of the monthly test. Popular Post Longjohn Posted July 9, 2018 Popular Post Share #18 Posted July 9, 2018 I’m seeing more honey bees this year than I have in a long time. He’s sucking on a milkweed flower. I wonder how that honey will taste? I bought three quarts of local honey the other day. It’s really good.
Popular Post Longjohn Posted July 9, 2018 Popular Post Share #19 Posted July 9, 2018 I have som stuff blooming in my garden. The Monarch butterflies are all over the milkweed I planted for them. I’ll have to see if I can get some photos of that. Some of the milkweed plants are stripped bare already. 7

dinneR Posted July 11, 2018 Share #24 Posted July 11, 2018 45 miles. Beautiful night for a ride. The rain stopped about 30 minutes before we started. We climbed the mountain on the right. It's got free range cattle. They just hang out on the road. It's a little sketchy when you are descending and you don't know if they will break into the ditch or over the road. 3
