TrentonMakes Posted July 6, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 6, 2018 N.J. farmer lost a week's worth of peaches after someone stole $1,000 of them Tom Holtzhauser has been robbed before, but not like this. There have been times when a car has pulled up on the side of Woodland Road and a few people decide to hop out and help themselves to a handful of ripe peaches without paying. But on Tuesday, Holtzhauser -- who said his peach business is the longest running family-owned farm in Harrison Township -- found that his 144-acre farm had been stripped of the fresh, white peaches that were about to be picked. Holtzhauser estimates the thieves made off with $1,000 worth of peaches -- enough to nearly fill a giant bin that typically holds about 800 pounds or 20 bushels of the fruit.
