Further Posted July 6, 2018 Share #3 Posted July 6, 2018 I don't think I'm getting any grand babies It saddens me, but I would not wish my wife's health problems on anyone. So.....
ChrisL Posted July 7, 2018 Share #4 Posted July 7, 2018 Sounds odd but I'm kinda hoping my daughter gets knocked up sooner rather than later. To hell with her plans, I want a grand baby to spoil. Probably have to wait a few more years tho...
shootingstar Posted July 7, 2018 Share #5 Posted July 7, 2018 My dearie enjoys his 3 grandsons: 16, 5, 3 yrs. old. But I don't ever recall him wishing for a grandchild....

JerrySTL Posted July 7, 2018 Share #7 Posted July 7, 2018 I've got a 10 month-old plus a set of 4 YO twins living with us right now. They are a lot more fun when you can spoil them then sent them away.

onbike1939 Posted July 7, 2018 Share #13 Posted July 7, 2018 I really envy those with Grandchildren and miss not having them. Having worked with children for a large part of my life, not having them around is a huge miss for me. When my daughter was young was the best part of my life but she's in her mid-fifties now. I wrote this following her visit. This time when she came I asked her to give me a hug...a thing I've never done before...but I needed to hold her againas I did so long ago.....when I would scoop her up..and breathe her inand know that in this momentnothing in the world could mean morethan this wriggling bundle. But now I am old and certainty is a stranger to medays pass without me knowing their name...I doubt....everythingand so I asked though this was hard for meknowing she would mark this well and see the why of it....this need to hold her close..to be certain of this one thing.

So..... My three sons are all adopted. The main health problem my wife had was infertility and then later breast cancer. Any genetic tendency for breast cancer in our children was avoided by adopting. Our fifteen grandchildren are healthy and awesome. I’m so looking forward to getting them all together at the cabins later this month.

He never wanted his daughter - in-law to be expected to bear children. His own daughter doesn't have children. And I chose not to have children. So he, squarewheels, etc. are normal. Rattlecan Posted July 7, 2018 Share #20 Posted July 7, 2018 Our newest grand daughter is about a month and a half old, and we have yet to meet her. We will get the chance in about three weeks. Can't wait. 1
