donkpow Posted July 17, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 17, 2018 I dislike them but I might be in the market for a smallish bag suitable for hanging without a front rack. Can you help a brother out?
dinneR ★ Posted July 17, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 17, 2018 Banjo Brothers makes some nice bags. I've owned a few. I use Revelate bags now and I have a Salsa anything cradle on the front. https://banjobrothers.com/collections/handlebar-bags Swift is another option. https://builtbyswift.com/product-category/bags/handlebar-front-bags/

donkpow Posted July 17, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted July 17, 2018 I was looking at Banjo Brothers. I've had my eye on the small Minnehaha barrel bag for a while now.
dinneR ★ Posted July 17, 2018 Share #5 Posted July 17, 2018 I've had good luck with the Banjo Bros. bags. My messenger bag is probably 10 years old and I use it daily. I've never tried the Minnehaha bags though. I do find their stuff to be well made and a good value. And I used to live on the namesake creek.

It originally came with Velcro straps for mounting to the bars. I made a few modifications to the bag and it provided excellent service. FWIW, the guy at my LBS lauds Banjo Bros bags. He owns them and sells them in his store. He wants to make me a good deal on one. I may do it.
donkpow Posted July 19, 2018 Author Share #8 Posted July 19, 2018 I got the Minehaha barrel bag today. I'm thinking I'll use it as the seat bag. I've got a conventional wedge type bag on now and I don't like it. This canvas bag is more of a traditionalist approach. I might get a cheap h-bar bag from Walmart. I don't know. The LBS has Banjo Bros and the handlebar bag is $33.
donkpow Posted July 20, 2018 Author Share #9 Posted July 20, 2018 Okay, that won't work. Set up on a road bike, the back of my thighs rub the bag at the bottom of my pedal stroke. I use a Brooks B17N. Makes a nice little H-bar bag, though. I'll need to move my computer to make room for the straps.
