She even caught 2 halibut on this trip, and one they estimated weighed between 48-53 pounds. They did not keep it, but they did keep a 20 pound halibut that she caught later. It is in our freezer. I had contacted a distant cousin in Juneau I had crossed paths with via the Internet but never met face-to-face (like many of us here!) and arranged to meet her when we docked during an Alaska Cruise. She drove us to the Mendenhal Glacier where she said, "When we were kids, we used to hook school and hang out up there where those bald eagles are." We hadn't noticed them until she pointed them out.
