Razors Edge ★ Posted August 13, 2018 Share #1 Posted August 13, 2018 No idea how the grammar holds up, but I love it anyway. Made me smile and keep reading "They picked us up at the airport in a seat-belt-less van manned by a driver who looked barely out of his teens, and we began the five-hour drive to our hotel in a town so remote, I hadn’t confidently located it on a map." I really find it amazing that in 2018, a person can struggle to find a hotel and town on a map. Not that the person is incompetent, but that there are places on this Earth that are vague enough or remote enough too warrant a "best guess" estimate of where something might be. Can you see the scene where your spouse asks you where you are off to for your next assignment, and you grab a map, and say something like, "I think it is somewhere around here." it just makes me chuckle, since I know that's not "normal" anymore.
