pedalphile Posted August 17, 2018 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2018 Who has any? Not me currently, but I do have thorn scratches from foraging blackberries.

If we wait a little bit, I will predict @dennis will. Hopefully not much, but he seems to be the highest risk. DH is more dirt and rock rash. I'm more in the poison ivy rash camp. Nothing like picking bits of rock out of your knee. 1
jsharr ★ Posted August 17, 2018 Share #4 Posted August 17, 2018 My youngest son went to Colorado with his Scout troop for Summer Camp. One of his merit badges was Mountain Biking. On one of the rides on a gravel road he hit a patch of sand and went down. This was over a month ago and his gravel rash is just about fully healed. He has been going to football workouts 4 days per week and I think this is having an adverse effect on healing time.

Bad year for blackberries here this year. They came in late and never really got big. I was able to get a nice bit of poison ivy along with the thorn scratches this year. Longjohn ★ Posted August 17, 2018 Share #6 Posted August 17, 2018 I try to avoid gravel rash. When they first put down new gravel on my road I sometimes haul my bike to the bike trail. Going to the Amish bakery was tough last week, fresh deep loose gravel on the hill to the bakery.
maddmaxx ★ Posted August 17, 2018 Share #7 Posted August 17, 2018 I haven't had the misfortune of gravel rash lately. I do have a couple of active pedal bites however. That seems to be a problem with using those sorts of meat tenderizers.

The_Karen_Cooper_Incident Posted August 17, 2018 Share #10 Posted August 17, 2018 Tom attacked my arm the other night while I was petting his belly. Does that count? Couch

There is a safe middle ground for picking berries somewhere between zipped up motorcycle jacket and naked. I usually go with jeans and a polo shirt. 1 1
Digital_photog ★ Posted August 17, 2018 Share #12 Posted August 17, 2018 Haven't had any bad gravel rash this year. Now that I said that I will probably have it soon. I did have a asphalt rash a month ago but that was from the dog rig.
ChrisL Posted August 17, 2018 Share #13 Posted August 17, 2018 Remnants from the rat basturd who took me down in my last mtn bike race a few months ago. I picked a fair amount of gravel out of it.
