Popular Post BR46 Posted October 5, 2018 Popular Post Share #1 Posted October 5, 2018 We had a tire go flat in a high speed right hand turn. We had a wild ride through the grass. The good news is we didn't crash and wo46 stayed on and we both ok. Man what a ride! 7

maddmaxx ★ Posted October 5, 2018 Share #5 Posted October 5, 2018 It's only flat in one spot. Couldn't you maintain control on the rest? Good save. 2

It's in the mid 90s here today. The tire is getting repaired so we will find out what caused the tire to go flat.

Razors Edge ★ Posted October 5, 2018 Share #9 Posted October 5, 2018 You needed to run your tubeless setup with some of that Stans goop. That seems to be your issue. Rookie mistake, as others have mentioned, but it is nice you are both fine besides needing new undershorts. Tom

OK, I know you can't lean with a sidecar, but the idea of a flat motorcycle tire is deeply disturbing.

pedalphile Posted October 5, 2018 Share #20 Posted October 5, 2018 So much wit and sympathy here only the Cafe could get away with, it makes me glad my rib cracking bike crash predates its existence. Bad luck BR and good escape. I once had a blowout on a 19mm front tyre on a new (to me) racing bike on a very steep downhill 90 degree left turn in Staffordshire’s finest stone walled countryside, steering was unpossible, ahead was the option, braking was possible, and luckily there was a neglected olde lane and field entrance ahead, and nothing coming up the hill in the other lane: death dodged, but pants filled and heart stopped, Oh Yes.

I once hit a brick that was sitting on the road in the dark, downhill with a slight right hand bend to the road. I don’t really know how I managed to keep it upright with two flat tyres (and a damaged wheel set). But that was the end of that predawn ride. 1
