Steel mill maintenance will do that to you. When you retire talk to an attorney and they will get you $10,000 plus. A lot of the guys I worked with got that. If your ears are shot, you didn't wear the required ear protection, so it's your own fault. I've worked construction & manufacturing from the 70's, but not for one company, and plenty of rock concerts, chainsaws, firearms, and generally living loud along the way. More or less self inflicted.... Do you get tested every year? How many years at where you now work. They go by your base line when you got hired not by all the previous jobs that were also loud. A guy I worked with at Westinghouse just retired from the forge last year and he got over $10,000. He told me I should talk to a lawyer and I told him but I can still hear.
