When English people say ma'am, it sounds like they are saying 'mum'

Thats because here in the states we play "guess the father of the baby" Over there it is guess the mother. They openly swap kids on the black market. the ones with the better looking teeth go to royal families.

*Disclaimer* nothing I said should be taken literally, but for whats it's worth.. I think that this shit could happen!

I don't know if I can ever forgive them for that.

I thought they were saying mum!

Sometimes when I'm watching British Comedies on D.C. public broadcasting's "WETA UK" channel, I turn the closed captions on when they've got strong-accented speaking (Cockney, Cornwall English, etc.) and the closed caption doesn't know what they're saying either!
