Is this from Japan?  Seems like their technology and lonely guys or ?  are putting them at the forefront of robot lovers.  The culture is very hard-working that there are um...a lot more virgins/ guys that just don't have social skills to find dates.

Or just younger Japanese women just fed up with patriarchial atitudes…much prevalent in my opinion in Japan.

I didn't look at the video clip because it's creepy development (to me).

I think we're in the lead in that area.

"A future in which sex robots literally shag humanity to death is closer than ever. In a fascinating long read for The Guardian, Jenny Kleeman dives deep into “the race to build the world’s first sex robot” and introduces the US$15,000 robotic, AI-enhanced RealDoll that could take the title.

Harmony is the result of two decades of making sex dolls at Abyss Creations in California, and five years of robot research and development."

I think the problem with Japanese culture is simple. They have an elaborate social code that is near guaranteed to kill intimacy, over the long run. There just isn't enough emotional communication to keep a relationship healthy.

Sorry, I saw edges of patriarichal crap when I was there.  It's tough for university educated Japanese women to land professional positions same as the guys there. The problem is far greater than North America. They are still expected to put their careers behind the guys.

Dearie and I walked in a ramen restarurant that was 99% Japanese/Asian guys. There were 50 guys there, drinking, ramen soup chow-down and business socializing because they all wore office business wear.  I was the only female customer. They were NOT from 1 company because of the flow of customer traffic that kept changing when I was there with dearie having our soups.  Then we walked in this same district loaded with restaurants and bars in central Tokyo. Same freakin'  thing 90% men, probably all Japanese.  Understand the Japanese tend to culturally tighter and not open to other Asians unless they can speak a 2nd language.

A close Canadian-born Chinese friend, lived and taught English in Tokyo for a year. Some of these areas probably have prostitutes hanging about.   I know I sound very critical but to me, personally Japanese treatment of women in 21st century,  is even more backward than mainland China.

I found this scenario which we walked by in Tokyo at night, rather conformist and awkward.  For sure, the young guys would not be developing social skills with their female peers because it is expected they socialize long with work male colleagues.

Sorry

Sorry?

We're saying the same thing from a different perspective. And I'd give your perspective more credence than mine.

Personally, I think I'd rather be shot than socialise with coworkers after work, as a routine. But I'd love to try a bunch of those tiny restaurants they hang out in. I'll never get to Hawaii, must less Asia, but there's a ton of places I'd like to go to.
