At the same time, in grad school in Chicago 1973-75, we got cheap, $0.99/6 pack, Mexican beer whose name I can't remember that had in indentation in the bottom of the glass bottle that you could use to twist the cap off another bottle. We, as a group, liked it better than Pabst for around $1.25. Some of liked the creaminess of Strow's, which was also a cheap beer around $1.25.
