donkpow Posted December 8, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 8, 2018 Doing a little surfing on Chrome over here for some information on regular type things and I have been hit twice with the 'phone winning survey scam' popup. It adds several items to history even though you don't do anything. I closed the browser and restarted it, cleared browser history, cleared recent cookies from my computer, and did a quick scan with my up to date Microsoft Security Essentials program. JerrySTL ★ Posted December 8, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 8, 2018 Scamming should be a death sentence. A painful one at that.
jdc2000 Posted December 8, 2018 Share #3 Posted December 8, 2018 Ad Server companies need to be sued for hosting those fake ads that link to malware sites. That might cut down on how many you get popping up.
donkpow Posted December 8, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted December 8, 2018 It's really quite rare for me, which is why I bring it up. When I first got the internet, I would wade ten pages deep in a search and click on anything. I got more Trojan horses than the Greek had ships. I am a smarter searcher now. If I don't find a link in the first couple of pages, I will modify my search terms.
