ChrisL Posted December 9, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 9, 2018 My daughter asked me to pick a song for the daughter dad dance at her wedding in a couple of weeks. We really don't have a song with special meaning that would work for this dance so I'm open to ideas. I know this group is a silly lot but I'm actually asking for help here. Got any ideas???

shootingstar Posted December 9, 2018 Share #5 Posted December 9, 2018 Hopefully Ralphie will help you...since his daughter got recently married. I'm not very good at remembering or knowing the pop song hits since I don't follow popular culture in music.
shootingstar Posted December 9, 2018 Share #6 Posted December 9, 2018 That's What Friends are For....by Dionne Warwick. Isn't that what a parent is for a child who is grown-up....and one day you will not be around...? I'm sorry....I lost my father....I did count on him.... "knowing you can always count on me, for good and bad times..." For grown daughter, either somehow being inspired by the daughter growing up or etc.? 4:32 Dionne Warwick - That's What Friends Are For 44M views · 4 years ago Save Saved! We wound up with Sam Cooke's Nothing Can Change This Love. I tried to find a Johnny Hartman or Nat King Cole one. I Wish You Love sung by Nat or Natalie was a runner up.

Popular Post Airehead Posted December 10, 2018 Popular Post Share #13 Posted December 10, 2018 At my wedding, the song was Unforgettable -- the duet version with NAt and his daughter. It was a surprise and it was wonderful. This is what I told Ralph when he asked. OH my gosh. I think I have been waiting to answer this question my whole Iife-- so many lyrics stuck in my head-- 1. I loved her first by Heartand I loved her firstI held her firstAnd a place in my heart will always be hersFrom the first breath she breathedWhen she first smiled at meI knew the love of a father runs deepAnd I prayed that she'd find you somedayBut it's still hard to give her awayI loved her first 2. Paul Simon- Father and Daugher there will never be a father that loves more than I love you 3. Daddy;s Angel-- I can only remember the part that says-- I am giving you away but I'm not letting go 4, Daddy;s Little Girl- Tim McGraw You're beautiful baby, from the outside inChase your dreams but always knowThe road that will lead you home againGo on, take on this old world but to meYou know you'll always be my little girl 5. And maybe my current favorite by Miranda Lambert-- He gave me roots, she gave me wings 4

groupw Posted December 10, 2018 Share #18 Posted December 10, 2018 When my oldest daughter gets married, I am going to suggest "Time after Time" by Cyndi Lauper. She was 2 when MTV was popular AND played music videos. Every time this video played, she would run from wherever she was in the house to see/listen to it. I recently re-looked at the lyrics. They would be appropriate.
