MoseySusan Posted December 16, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 16, 2018 I continually waver between kindness and sarcasm, each tone equally poised for expression. It’s like I speak two languages, using the one that the other party would better understand.

groupw Posted December 16, 2018 Share #7 Posted December 16, 2018 I like to eat and have a roof over my head so being employed is important. I filter myself a lot. When I’m sick or very tired my filter is lower. I get a free pass most times on those days. Maybe I should just SAY I’m sick or tired more.... 1

shootingstar Posted December 16, 2018 Share #18 Posted December 16, 2018 I don't think snide. It takes a lot of energy unless someone is truly destructive on the forum. I just take things too seriously on the forum at times. Right? Yea, I know... am boring. I don't get all the jokes. Some of it is popular culture that's historic or clips from movies in this forum, that I never watched as a kid. It's a joy being an imbecile. Digital_photog ★ Posted December 17, 2018 Share #19 Posted December 17, 2018 I speak fluent sarcasm. WoD_P thinks I would be better off using normal English or Spanish.
MickinMD ★ Posted December 17, 2018 Share #20 Posted December 17, 2018 I go way out of my way to avoid saying bad things about those I know as well as avoiding criticism of politics and religion. I think it comes out of my training as a teacher where, for example, you attend a parent-teacher conference and immediately understand why their kid is so badly behaved and irresponsible. But, of course, you can't say anything about the parents. Even when I'm speaking to someone I know hates someone we know in common, I avoid pointing out some new faults of the hated person - I might be mentioned in a "Even Mickey says..." cutting comment in the future.
